Video Game Console : Fifth Generation

The fifth generation console started in 1994, when the popularity of fourth generation began faded. The Atari Jaguar and Panasonic 3DO were the first game in this era. They were better at rendering polygons, could display more on screen color and the 3DO used disc that contained far more information than cartridges and were cheaper to produce. Thats the reason they were much more powerful than Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and Mega Drive/Genesis.

But in 1996, both of consoles would be discontinued because 3DO very expensive even combine the prices of SNES and Mega Drive/Genesis and Atari is too difficult to programmed

The fifth generation become popular when Sega Saturn, Sony Playstation and Nintendo 64 were released. The different of them are in the media to store the games, where Saturn and Playstation used CDs while Nintendo 64 use cartridges.
